Dear Youth Hockey Family:
While it’s still months away, we wanted you to have information on the 2010-2011 Dallas Stars Youth Hockey league. It’s important to know all of your options before the hectic travel tryout season begins. Your child does not have to play travel hockey, nor do you have to spend thousands of dollars, in order for you to enjoy a great season of hockey. We want to provide every participant in our league the finest hockey experience possible in a FUN, safe, friendly environment.
Only the DSYHL offers all of these great features for Squirts, Peewees, Bantams and Midgets.

· Every team will play a league game at the American Airlines Center, home of the Dallas Stars. That’s right; you’ll play on the same ice where the Dallas Stars play. We’ll make sure every team has a first class experience with announcers, music and FUN!
· Teams will be formed at each StarCenter location.
· We will have an All Star game at each age level with the top players from each team. Each player will receive a special All Star jersey to commemorate the occasion.
· Every player will receive two tickets to a Dallas Stars regular season game.
· Every player will be issued a VIP, photo ID card.
· Format will include leveling games and a tiered schedule so that your team will play comparably skilled teams throughout the season and playoffs

· NEW-Expanded REP Program
All of the features listed above plus all of the great things you have come to expect from the DSYHL will make 2010-2011 a great season. Features such as the Presidents Day Tournament, Pointstreak, a preseason Coaches Clinic and convenient, consistent scheduling make this the top recreational league of its kind anywhere in the country.
EXPANDED REP PROGRAM-Three to four weeks after the DSYHL season begins we will hold tryouts at each rink for REP teams at the Squirt-Peewee levels. These teams will consist of players registered and playing in the DSYHL. Players who make the REP team will continue to play on their DSYHL team but will also play on the REP teams approximately once per week participating in a practice or a game. Games will be played against REP teams from the other local rinks. In order for a location to field a REP team there must be at least two DSYHL teams from that rink at that age group or we may combine two rinks to form one REP team at a particular age group. The cost to play on the REP team will be $499 per player in addition to the normal DSYHL league fee and will include a custom jersey. The program will include 10 games plus practices and also allow teams the flexibility to register for a limited number of tournaments provided they do not conflict with regularly scheduled REP or DSYHL games.
MINI-MITES-Our Mini-Mites will be in store for a great season as well. The Mini-Mite season will be divided into two halves. The first half will be October through December and the second half will be January through March. We will be bringing back the Holiday Mini-Mite festival again this season on Sunday, December 26th. The Festival is a totally FREE event that celebrates Mini-Mite Hockey. We will have hockey games, balloons, face-painting and awards for all participants. Of course many Mini-Mites will have the chance to do a shoot-out at a Dallas Stars game. (Shootouts are subject to availability).
