 Hip Hop Class

Fast Paced hip-hop choreography class — skaters will really enjoy this class!   Students learn a complete routine during each class to popular music.  Great way for students to learn to express themselves, and become less inhibited while performing.  Lots of use of mirror and an encouraging challenge as the class is divided into groups and performs for their class mates.

Creative Kids

This 30 minute on-ice class introduces competitive figure skaters in basic music interpretation and choreography concepts.  Instructor brings a selection of different musical pieces each week to familiarize student to various examples of different musical styles that may be used for figure skating performance.  She instructs students in recognizing movements that are significant to the period or type of music, explaining how certain movements would be appropriate choreography for that type of music.  Skaters also gain cultural music knowledge, some dance history, and improve their listening and discernment skills, gain rhythmic understanding and learn how the creative/choreographic process works in competitive figure skating.  This very enjoyable class encourages skaters to become a more Creative Kid.
